Fantastic article on how biases and different ways of thinking can get in our way as leaders.

This can be an issue at performance reviews or when interviewing people for a promotion, as biases mean we ignore facts and go with what we think is true.

The first step is an awareness of what biases exist and thinking about how to minimize them.

This article is pure gold, with plenty of insightful illustrations. Thank you Gaurav!

As leaders, we cannot pretend to know everything and be perfect, but we should be aware of those cognitive biases and the traps they create.

The points 1-5 definitely are big digital problems- easily applicable to algorithm issue in todays world,…

The other points require a more situational experience(real time learning/understanding- practice). The depth of understanding is always essential part of any leadership. To translate a task towards healthier path, requires good team, but greater still ethical healthy practices, the lack of which can dissipate cognitive understanding& devolve into situations when soundbites, ads, ego wars replace a complex issue or vision with simplified market strategies… for power& short term gratifications. Ah and the halo effect…- people might need to remember it transfers power of brain& can be weened away.. like trick or treat costume party!
